- This major chemical company required a self-sterilising pilot scale airlift bioreactor, for scale-down work at a large scale biopolymer plant
- Specification: 100 L volume, 6 bar pressure, up to 4 vvm air flow
- Additional small vessels for seed production
- Multi-parallel culture systems were also requested for ultra scale-down analysis of biological process components
Technical Solution by INFORS HT:
- A high-pressure vessel was designed and manufactured to order, with oversize headspace, large foam trap and multiple sight glasses
- Rapid cyclic changes in vessel pressure and gas flow implemented, according to specifications for scale-down mimic of process plant
- Integration of INFORS HT process control hardware and INFORS HT Iris software, automates steam-in-place and dynamic process control
- 2 x 2.5 L Minifors bioreactors supplied for seed culture production
- 2 x Multitron 2 incubation shakers provided for ultra scale-down work in multiple parallel shake flasks and microplates
