The Minitron & Multitron incubator shakers with lighting can provide various light spectra, light intensity, day/night timer. Further, cooling and gassing with CO₂ provide the best conditions for screening and optimisation of phototrophic processes.

For scale-up processes, the Labfors Lux stirred bioreactor includes a range of optimised parameter measurement and control loops for temperature, stirring, pH and pO₂ control with process data recording in addition to control lighting strategies e.g. varying intensity and day/night cycling. INFORS HT provides a process control unit with options for several gassing strategies, operated via a touch screen or rotary process controller for use with multi-vessel, parallel operation.
